January 2018 Update

The Ishpeming Ski Club is a few years into fielding a nordic ski team through Ishpeming and Negaunee Public Schools, serving both middle school and high school age groups.  The team is a mix of students from Ishpeming Public Schools and Negaunee Public Schools.  We have over 30 teens participating in the program; all are competing in cross-country skiing, some are competing in nordic combined (cross-country skiing and ski jumping).  This is a 50% increase from last year!

With their race suits, jackets, and hats, the team is not only improving their performance this each year, but they look like a cohesive team as well.  It has been great to compete against the Marquette School team in a five race schedule held on the area cross country courses in Marquette County.  The racers also have been attending other races around the central division which includes Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota.  Good luck to our area skiers!
